Important Changes to the CSCS Green Card from 1st July

CSCS, the leading certification card scheme for construction is making changes to the 'Construction Site operative' or 'Green Card'. The card for site operatives will be changed to a new Green Card for 'Labourers'. By making the changes CSCS is hoping to raise the standards within the industry and ensure that construction personnel apply for the card that best serves their role and competency.

The changes will take effect from the 1st July 2014

If you work in a Labouring occupation and want to apply for the new green Labourer card you will need to:

1. Pass the Health and Safety in a Construction Environment level 1 qualification* or
Hold a valid Site Safety Plus Health & Safety Awareness Course certificate (click the link for more info) or
Pass the CIEH Level 2 Award in Health & Safety in the Workplace
and;
2. Pass the CITB Operatives Health, Safety and Environment test within two years of applying for a new card. More information on the test can be found
